Designwalk Kolding - Guided tour of the streets of Kolding
Distance: 64.57 Km
Designwalk in Kolding; hear about design in the cityscape and Kolding's latest history
The classic trip approx. 1 time:
The tour is based on the city's old castle and the design solutions that the Exner couple chose in the 70s, during the major restoration.
Via Slotsgade and Tegnestuen Mejeriet's re-design of the area in the late 80's, we move down to the user-controlled design projects by the course and the river.
Here we will look at the skating rink, the graffiti tunnel and the crime scenes, all of which are newer projects in the city where users have had an impact. Finally, we move out to Kolding's campus area, where SDU and the Design School are some of the main institutions.
If possible, we go inside and look at SDU and Tobias Rehberger's creative watches at the university.
An orientation and a look at current and upcoming projects in Design City Kolding puts a nice end to the Designwalk.
An extended trip of approx. 2½ hour also includes the major cultural projects from the 00s;
the library and the Nicolai cultural complex as well as a closer look at both VUC, the design school and Living in Design City Kolding.
