The Danish Nursing History Museum is Denmark's only specialist museum on nursing. The exhibitions show the history of nursing, the patient and the health system in Denmark from the Middle Ages to the present day.

The Danish Nursing History Museum's permanent exhibition touches on the themes of vocation, hierarchies in hospitals, the historical development of nursing, the founding of the Danish Nursing Council, nurses abroad, home nursing, education, living conditions, etc.
The permanent exhibition consists of several tableaux, supplemented by changing special exhibitions.

The museum's buildings were originally part of the Christmas stamp sanatorium by Kolding Fjord, built in 1911 as Denmark's first sanatorium for children with tuberculosis.

Today, the entire old sanatorium area is a beautiful and exciting excursion place with nature, museum and the opportunity for a cup of coffee or a bite to eat at Hotel Koldingfjord.
