At Koldinghus, the possibilities are many. Try e.g. renaissance dancing, fencing, mead tasting or a tour of the old royal castle. You can even plan the children's birthday.

In the middle of Kolding is Koldinghus, which is Jutland's last royal castle.

The story
The Danish king built a castle around 1268 to guard the border between the Kingdom of Denmark and the Duchy of Schleswig.

The oldest preserved parts of Koldinghuser north side, which were built by Christoffer of Bavaria, who ruled from 1441-48. The entire west wing is said to date from the time of Christian I or perhaps rather his successors. The last two sides, the south and east sides, were built by Christian 1.
The giant tower was built when Christian IV became king in 4.

Around 1720, Frederik 4 rebuilt Koldinghus to what we know today.
