Overturned high-voltage pylons at Fredericia

Distance: 74.86 Km

See the great work of art by Nils Erik Gjerdevik when you drive on the E20 motorway near Taulov.

Artwork as an eye-catcher by the motorway

In a field next to the E20 motorway near the small town of Taulov, there are three toppled high-voltage masts, which form a large work of art created by the artist Nils Erik Gjerdevik.

The three masts, which are painted in green, purple and pink luminescent colors so that they are also visible at night, are located right at a motorway junction. And precisely the location plays a central role in the work! Passers-by on the motorway only have a split second to register the work, and the work should therefore be easy to decode. In the field, the fallen masts seem at once both recognizable and alien in the surroundings.

Part of the 50 most important works of public art

Nils Erik Gjerdevik's work of toppled high-voltage masts in a field by the E20 motorway near Fredericia has been named among the #TOP50 works of art in the public space in 2023 by the Danish Club's art panel. Read more about the project here!
