The Historic Miniby

Distance: 81.51 Km

Explore a miniature version of Fredericia as the fortress city looked in 1849.

Experience Fredericia on a smaller scale in the Historic Mini City

Have you ever thought about what Fredericia would look like in a mini version? In the Historic Mini City you will get the answer! The Historic Mini City shows Fredericia anno 1849 in a size ratio of 1:10. Walk around between the small houses and discover what is hidden behind the next street corner. Here you experience Fredericia in a completely new way.

Volunteers behind the detailed buildings

The mini-city's houses have some absolutely incredible details and behind them is a huge construction work. The houses are primarily built by volunteers who are also responsible for renovation and repairs. Because the buildings are outside all year round, they will be worn by the weather and wind, and the houses are therefore regularly given a makeover so that they look as nice as possible during the summer season.

See the Minibuilders workshop in Madsby Playpark

Small bricks and the correct color paint - Nothing is left to chance when the Mini Builders build and restore.

The group of volunteers call themselves the Minibuilders and are based in Madsby Play Park, where the curious can poke their heads past the workshop and see the huge amount of work that lies behind the buildings in Den Historiske Miniby. Here they themselves burn a wide selection of bricks the size of the tip of an index finger and mix the absolutely correct paint.

The mini-builders get help from Fredericia's Local Archives to ensure that the Historic Mini-by is also historically correct.
