Madsby Play Park - A free, outdoor play mecca in the middle of Denmark!

Madsby Legepark is a huge outdoor playground in Fredericia full of experiences. The play park is a real slafferland for active children and their adults, and there are plenty of activities here for a whole day's excursion!

Many hours of play await you!

With over 400.000 visitors annually, Madsby Play Park is the area's biggest tourist attraction for families with children, and you can understand why! Regardless of whether you are going on a full-day excursion or simply have a few hours of respite in a busy everyday life, the Play Park is the ideal choice. Here you get a central location, beautiful natural surroundings and endless play - because you never finish experiencing Madsby Play Park!

Madsby playground has been awarded an "Excellent Play" certificate and has also been named by GoLittle as "Denmark's Funniest Playground".

What can you try in Madsby Playpark?

In Madsby Play Park you will find several different ones playgrounds and activity tracks for different age groups. There is something for everyone here, and while the children play, the adults can relax in the Playpark's small green oases.

Playgrounds and mooncars

In Madsby Playpark you can let loose on the big one sand playground for children in all others. There are swings, slides and climbing frames here. You can also visit the new one Klods-Hans playground, where there are games for all the senses. The Klods-Hans playground is particularly good for the smaller children and is handicap and wheelchair friendly.

If you are more into speed over the field, you can try Madsby Play Parks mooncar track. Find an available mooncar and cruise around the circuit's small roads in a safe environment.

Tarzan track and brand new climbing facility

There are climbing opportunities for both young and old in Madsby Play Park!

The slightly older children can be challenged at Madsby Playpark's very own tarzan lane. The course is suitable for children over 10 years and adults, so here mum and dad can also find their inner child and try their hand at the challenging course. Take each other's time and see who gets through the fastest - good laughs are guaranteed along the way!

Also try Madsby Playpark's new attraction: A large climbing facility that just opened in the spring of 2023. The climbing facility invites you to many hours of fun and lots of space to spread out - the facility is 23 by 23 meters and has room for up to 225 children on one time.

Mini-zoo and petting zoo

In Madsby Play Park you will also find an area with a mini-zoo where you can get up close to the animals. Here you can experience, among other things, Swedish minipigs, goats, rabbits, many different birds, chickens, guinea pigs and turtles. It is possible to touch and pet several of the animals.

It is not allowed to feed the animals in the park!

Mini golf and rowing boats

In Madsby Play Park you can also try your hand at activities for the whole family. See, for example, who does best at the playground 18-hole mini golf course or row out on Madsby Playpark's large lake in one of the park's lakes rowing boats. There can be 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults in each boat.

Information and ticket prices

Both mini golf and the boats require a ticket. Tickets are bought at the ticket office, which is located in the middle of the park. Mini golf costs DKK 50 per adult and child, children under 3 are free. Clubs and balls are available in the ticket office. A row trip costs DKK 50 per boat.

In the ticket office you will also find life jackets for adults and children. Life jackets are not required but recommended. The play park's lake is an artificial lake with a depth of 90 cm.

Opening hours in Madsby Playpark

Madsby Legepark has free entry and is open around the clock. However, paid and staffed activities are open from 10-16 on weekdays and 10-18 at weekends during the summer season (from April to October).

On a trip with the Madsbytoget: Discover the rest of Madsbyparken and the Historic Minitown

The food city train is Madsbyparken's very own little train. The train runs from Madsby Playpark and on around through the rest of Madsbyparken. En route, you can get off the train at The Historic Miniby, which is also part of Madsbyparken. In Den Historiske Miniby you can experience a miniature version of Fredericia in 1849 in a scale of 1:10.

Information and ticket prices

A ticket for the train costs DKK 35 for adults and DKK 25 for children aged 4-11. Children under 3 are free. If you buy a ticket for the Madsbytoget, the entrance to Den Historiske Miniby is included in the price.

The train makes its first trip at 11 and until 17. There may be some days when the train does not run. Keep yourself informed on the information boards in Madsby Play Park or via the play park facebook page!

Practical information about Madsby Play Park

Free access: There is always free access to Madsby Play Park. Some activities such as mini golf, sailing boats and trips with the Madsbytoget require a ticket, which can be bought in the Play Park at prices between DKK 20-60.

Season activities: Madsby Play Park is open all year round, but activities that require a ticket are open during the Play Park's season, which runs from the beginning of April until week 42.

Parking: There is parking at Madsby Play Park. Parking costs DKK 12 per hour in the period between 9 and 17 every day.

Public transport: Madsby Legepark is located 100 meters from Fredericia Railway Station, so you can easily use public transport if you want to visit the park.

Toilet and changing area: There are toilet facilities with changing facilities in the park.

Handicap friendly: Madsby Play Park is disabled-friendly with disabled toilets, tiled paths on the park's hills and space for non-electric wheelchairs on the Madsby train.

Dog: It is allowed to have a dog with you in Madsby Play Park. Dogs must be kept on a leash and must not stay in the park's sandboxes.

Buy food and drink at the Madsby kiosk or bring your own food basket

Without food and drink, the hero will not do! If you get hungry during your visit to the play park, you can visit The Madsby kiosk. The Madsby kiosk sells a wide selection of fast food, sandwiches, cold and hot drinks and various snacks. The Madsby kiosk also has an ice cream department, where you can buy delicious ice cream from Hansen Is. On busy summer days, an extra ice cream stall opens at the Klodshans playground.

You can also choose to bring your own food basket on the excursion to Madsby Play Park. Food and drink brought with you may be enjoyed everywhere in the play park area. All around the park and at the various activities there are seating areas and sets of tables and benches that you can use. There is also one in the park packed lunch house, where you can sit down and enjoy your purchased or brought food.

Help keep Madsby Playpark clean and tidy - please use the bins provided or take your rubbish with you.

Hold a birthday or family party in Madsby Play Park

In Madsby Play Park you can easily hold your next one arrangement. The park has 4 packed lunch houses of different sizes, of which 3 of the houses can be rented for private events. Find more information about the various houses' facilities and booking here!

It is also possible to play a barbecue if you have to hold an event with eating. A grill can have a capacity of 20-25 adults per hour. The price is DKK 105 per hour per grill, and a grill can be rented for a maximum of 2 hours. Read more about renting a grill here!
