Explore the old town, where winding, narrow streets, old houses, rose bushes and cobblestones set the mood

Middelfart is a maritime town whose history is closely linked to the waters of the Little Belt, ferry services, and the many porpoises that live in the waters. Middelfart was home to many smaller merchant ships and ferries before the Little Belt Bridges connected Funen and Jutland. Today there are 10 ships worthy of preservation in Middelfart Gl. Harbor.

Go down through Brogade and pass by if necessary Henner Hairdressers house and get more knowledge about of the guinea pig hunters everyday life in the 1800th century.

At Gl. Harbor is the local fish shop, which offers freshly caught lunch on the waterfront, while enjoying the view of the bridges' architecture - all the while the old wooden ships rock in the harbor.
Continue from Gl. Pass the shipyard to the dinghy houses, which tell of the town's former porpoise hunting and porpoise hunters' guild. The Hanging Gardens (storied garden) which is distinctively located next to the belt, can be seen both from the harbor area and from outside the belt. Make a stop in the listening station and hear the clicking sounds of the guinea pigs. From Gl. The harbor often has daily sailing trips during the summer look3, Adventure og MS Marianne. In Nyhavn2 is located MS Sabine which also has daily trips out on the belt.

The area is part of the climate city, where Middelfart city develops a more climate-robust and beautiful city by reorganizing parts of the area so that it can direct the increased amounts of rainwater away from the city and down into the Little Belt, all in synergy with the development of the city space.

End the day with a walk through Middelfart's cozy pedestrian street with the many little ones specialty stores, or experience Middelfart's local cuisine at one of the many cozy restaurants cafes or restaurants.
