Changing exhibitions in a historical setting

The old Hjulmandhus on Brovejen in Middelfart, where you can enjoy changing art exhibitions throughout the summer. Organized by the Association Vestfynske Kunstnere.

The beautiful house is a half-timbered house that has been preserved after its original appearance. It is located among the many ice houses, on Brovejen, near the Old Little Belt Bridge in Middelfart. The house is now owned by Middelfart municipality.

Hjulmandshuset was built in 1820, and it has been housing for various families over the years. At the end of the 1800th century, it was inhabited by the first wheelwright (hence the name Hjulmandshuset).

Now it is not apple slices that are on offer, but Visual Arts and Crafts, made by the West Funen Artists. The Association of West Funen Artists, consists of 92 members. Since 2013, they have had the opportunity to lend the house to Galleri. Here, the active members can then book the house in shifts one week over the summer, where they exhibit and tell about their art.

Stop by, have a chat with the local artists. Free access.

Open all weekends over the summer Saturday / Sunday at 11 -16

Increased opening hours are published in the local newspaper Melfar-Posten and on our website.
