The estate's loading bridge and the fishermen's bridge

An old avenue with i.a. linden trees lead directly down to Fænøsund just west of Hindsgavl Castle and the park. It begins outside the gable of the former tenant's residence and on the left you can see the redwashed descent to the castle's original ice cellar protected by a mound of earth with a large chestnut tree on top.

By the beach was the estate's loading bridge. From here grain was shipped and had a close connection to Fænø on the other side of Fænøsund. Fænø was in between in Hindsgavl's possession and the island is today in private hands.

On Fænø they ran a large farm with a large cowshed. Thus, there was a need for this charging bridge. And for generations, a fishing family has lived here and leased the estate's rich eel farms.

The area is publicly accessible
