You can use your sea trout stick or fly gear, but gear at the light end is most fun as a large hornfish weighs 0,7-1 kg. Use slim flashers and peel off the wooden hook. Most days, the hornfish does not care about the color of the flash as long as it flashes. Some days it may be selective. Those days must be experimented with and a silver-colored flash with fiery green foil is often the answer.

Very efficient and easy to fish with is a floating bulldozer raft or bomber raft. Line distance from float to bait is 1-1,5 meters and at the end you tie a small sharp wooden hook size 8-12 mounted with a slender stubble fillet. Out on the pier or in a dinghy or boat, you may want to use a slim raft instead.

Fly fishing is good for self-confidence

Fly fishing for hornfish is good for the angler's confidence. Try a small angry orange fly size 10-12 or a small tube fly with black wing with flash fished lightning fast through the water with a few breaks. If possible, use a light aftm 5 rod of 8-9 feet. Good entertainment.

The best fishing takes place in sunny weather with light winds. Thus, there is a good opportunity to get the family or a beginner out fishing, as the weather is nice and the fishing is usually not that difficult.
